Apple Research Advert

This advert of Homer Simpson was aimed at the young generation because most youngsters watch popular programs like the Simpsons. It’s something they can relate to and catch the eye of the youngsters because Homer is quite popular.

I think they definitely achieved success with this advert. It would catch my eye because I love the Simpsons. I think a lot of youngsters would look at this and it would catch their eye and they would be like “If Homer’s got a Walkman then I certainly want one”.

It definitely stands out because it’s not hard to spot Homer. It’s different because it’s a bright colour (most adverts are dull with just the electronic devise’s name). The Walkman also stands out very well. However the devise itself does look like a doughnut which Homer is known for loving. A lot of thought has been put into this to make this eye catching and it’s very clever the way they’ve put it together.

It doesn’t have a logo on it which isn’t helpful. How do we know what it’s advertising? Homer? Apple? I would definitely put a logo or slogan on this to ensure what I’m advertising.
