A BMW.

What are they advertising?
They are advertising a BMW car.

What are they telling us about the product?
They telling us it's as fast as a shark and that it's a "preditor" and is higher up the "food chain" than all the other cars.

Is there a message in the advert?
That is resembles a shark.

Who is the advert made for?
Mainly men and teen boys because they're the audience for cars mostly and men and boys really like sharks as they're vicious.

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience?
Yes, definitely because it uses the right kind of signs e.g shark for being fast and a preditor (metaphor)

What type of advert is it?
Surreal because it's creating a dream. You wouldn't be driving a car in a dark place and light being projected to make it look like a shark so it's not realistic.

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?
Yeah I really like it but it's a little plain for me, looking at it, it doesn't really look like a car at first (one of our classamtes thought it was actually a shark) and it seems to have confused some people. So, it does kind of work if you knew it was a BMW but if I walked past this advert on the street, it wouldn't catchg my eyes because my first impression is "oh, it's just a pattern of a shark on a black background".
So overall it doesn't really work for me but I'm not sure about other peoples, everyone interperates stuff in different ways.

I'm not particually sure.

A duck all alone in the landscape? Not sure?

Not sure to be completely honest.

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience?
Not even close.

What type of advert is it?

Humourous because there's a rubber duck.

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?
Personally not at all. It's a langscape which just resembles two colours and there's a duck in the middle. It's clear what they're advertising because of the logo at the bottom but as far as the picture goes, where's the actual car? How do we know what we're buying? Why is there a duck? What does a duck have to do with a car?
Very very pointless advert and does nothing for the advertising company or the audience. Often I find myself watching some adverts on TV like the one with the flying washing machine and wonder what it has to do with a car (if that's what it was advertising, I'm can't remember).

Nike trainers.

They are advertising a nike trainers.

What are they telling us about the product?
That a lot of work goes into making the trainers.

Is there a message in the advert?
That a lot of work and people go into making the shoes. .

Who is the advert made for?
Everybody. Children would enjoy the little men and you can imagine kids saying "I want them shoes with the little men" and teens and adults would focus on the shoe itself.

Do you think it reaches the correct target audience?
Yes, definitely because it uses the right kind of signs e.g little men building it and it takes work and care with making the shoes and the men look like toys which interest kids

What type of advert is it?
Surreal.

What do you think of the advert and do you think it works?
I like the advert but I find the colours very boring. It needs to have more colour in it because the shoe is the same colour as the background. If it had a different colour background or shoe then I think it would stand out more.
