Sherlock Holmes Crime Drama Review (Re-upload)

We looked at the opening of Sherlock Holmes.
Sherlock Holmes was set in Old London and the particular scene was in a church. Costumes included 1910's style suits and posh clothes. The villian was wearing purple which indicated "poison" or a mystery and he was also wearing black which suggests evil or darkness.
It's a very dark opening scene because the lighting was low, giving us a mysterious nighttime look about the scene and fitted nicely with the villians purple/black costume.
Props included canes, guns and a lantern. The lantern was probably to make the scene a little bit more lighter so we could see some of the characters expressions.
The lady was wearing a white dress. This suggests purity and she's the good one and the victim. IT suggests she's innocent and a calm, relaxed lady. She stood out because the background was really dark.
We didn't see the villians face but the director purposely used lighting so we could see the villian's mouth, getting us interesting and wanting to see the villian more.
